List of 2010 Crunchies Nominees for Social Commerce Category

This year, the tech-Oscars, known as the  “Crunchies”, have added a new “social commerce app” category, and the internet community gets to nominate the nominees.

Hosted by GigaOm, VentureBeat, and TechCrunch, the 2010 Crunchies is the fourth annual competition and award ceremony to recognize and celebrate the most compelling startups, internet and technology innovations of the year.

Click here to nominate your favourite social commerce app (third category from top) – nominations are accepted until midnight December 24th (PST), and then the Crunchies Committee will select the top five nominated social commerce apps as finalists based on the quantity, quality and breadth of submissions received.

The final award winners will be determined based on the popular votes received through website voting and the Crunchies Committee.   Award winners will be announced live at the Awards Ceremony to be held Friday, January 21, 2011 in San Francisco.

Last year, the Crunchies featured no social commerce category, but Facebook won the “Crunchie” for the best overall startup or product, and Groupon was a finalist for the best Internet application category.  This year, based on number of tweets, f-commerce applications and social shopping platforms appear to be front runners.  Here’s a list of nominees so far (let us know if we’ve missed any – and we’ll add them to the list)
