Klout, which bills itself as the “standard for influence,” just released a list of the season’s 10 most influential retailers based on their Klout score. Topping the list is Amazon, followed by Victoria’s Secret, JC Penney, Sports Authority, Walgreens, HSN, ThinkGeek, Best Buy, Target and Macys, respectively.
Klout bases its ranking algorithm on three factors:
- True Reach: How many people you influence in social media
- Amplification: How much you influence them
- Network Impact: The overall influence of your network
The higher an individual – or in this case a company – ranks, the higher the score. Klout pulls data from a variety of social networks, including: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Foursquare and Google+.
So, if, like me, you’re a last minute shopper and a brand’s online influence is of any importance, head on over to the mall, big box store, or go online and finish up your holiday shopping.
And, from the “two Paul’s,” have a wonderful holiday and all the best for the new year!
